Oral Prophylaxis
Commonly referred to as a “cleaning”
This involves the removing of soft deposits, plaque, calculus, and stain from above the gums and below the gums.
There are three types of cleanings:
Scaling
Scaling and root debridement “Deep cleaning”
Periodontal maintenance
Fluoride Application
This is a professional treatment containing a high concentration of fluoride which is applied to the tooth’s surface. Fluoride helps to strengthen tooth structure, reduce tooth decay, and help reduce tooth sensitivity.
The two types of fluoride I use include:
Fluoride varnish
Silver diamine fluoride
Sealant Placement
A sealant is a thin protective coating made from dental materials that adhere to the chewing surface of your back teeth. These back teeth are rough and uneven allowing cavity-causing bacteria to hide.
Sealants have been shown to reduce the risk of decay in nearly 80% of molars

Intra-Oral photos
These are photos that are taken of your teeth, gums, and oral tissues with a little camera. This is a great way to compare changes and send the photos to your current dentist to allow them to diagnose treatment that may be needed.
Dental X-rays/Radiographs
Dental x-rays are images of your teeth that help evaluate your oral health. These capture images in between your teeth and “inside” of your teeth. They help identify problems like cavities, impacted teeth, periodontal disease, and infections.
